SparkScores' commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2024 for SparkScores.
SparkScores operates as a leading sports information and live scores platform, providing football scores, fixtures, results, and match information to users globally. As a responsible technology company, legal and regulatory compliance are fundamental to our business operations.
SparkScores is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking and requires compliance from our employees and suppliers with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our Business Structure
For the purposes of this statement, SparkScores' operations are primarily based in Norway, with services provided globally through our digital platform. The vast majority of our suppliers are based in Europe and North America. SparkScores develops and operates sports publishing, media services, and digital platforms focused on football and sports information.
Risk Assessment
In light of where we conduct business, where our suppliers are based, and the technology industry in which we operate, we consider that there is a very low risk that modern slavery and human trafficking may affect our business. Our supply chain sectors primarily relate to typical services used in the general operation of our business such as:
- Information technology and software services
- Digital marketing and advertising services
- Professional and consulting services
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure services
- Sports data and API services
Our Policies and Procedures
Nonetheless, we adopt policies and procedures which are designed to:
- Ensure all relevant staff are alert to the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our business and supply chains
- Monitor potential risk areas in our business and supply chains
- Reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chain
- Provide protection to whistleblowers
Training and Awareness
We provide modern slavery awareness training to our leadership team and employees who are engaged in key areas of the business pertaining to supply chains and procurement. Other employees are offered modern slavery training modules for their general awareness and education.
Due Diligence and Supplier Management
We require employees engaged in the process for the selection of suppliers to conduct reasonable due diligence to ensure that there are no modern slavery and human trafficking risks affecting that supplier or partner. This may include:
- Raising enquiries with the supplier or partner
- Requesting copies of relevant policies and employee handbooks
- Conducting risk assessments for suppliers in higher-risk territories
- Including contractual commitments and protections in our supplier agreements
SparkScores has always chosen to work with reputable third parties across the various sectors that we engage in. Where appropriate, we include contractual commitments and protections in our agreements with our suppliers.
Employee Standards and Conduct
In respect of SparkScores' own employees, our Employee Handbook makes clear the actions and behavior expected of them when representing the organization, including that we will not tolerate modern slavery and human trafficking affecting any part of our business or supply chain.
We strive to maintain the highest standards of employee conduct and ethical behavior when operating and managing our supply chain. Our HR and Recruitment teams ensure that we comply with all applicable laws in the territories in which we operate.
Reporting and Whistleblowing
Our employees are advised to take particular care in respect of organizations that provide services from higher risk territories. Employees are advised to notify SparkScores' management team immediately if they have any concerns so that we can take appropriate action.
We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery across our business and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and dealings.
